Now You’re Thinking with Portals!

Spring2011 was a lot of things, and one of those things was amazeballs, and that thing was due to Portal2, which was amazeballs, which is a thing you should already know.

And within this life-altering game (seriously my life was altered, what, just me?) among the billion things worth talking about, one tiny (rad) detail was the collection of retro workplace posters in the old ApertureScience offices.

Those are just a few, play the game, for realsies.  But the other day I came across some actual retro posters FOR SCIENCE that were collected on brainpickings, and they were pretty darn rad too.  Retro+cooldesign+science= and a good time was had by all.

The remarkable thing is that it is the crowded life that is most easily remembered. A life full of turns, achievements, disappointments, surprises, and crises is a life full of landmarks. The empty life has even its few details blurred, and cannot be remembered with certainty.

Colour My World

Did you hear about Sanna Dullaway this week?  A Swedish artist who specializes in photo restoration and colorization.  She made a splash by posting her colorizations of some classic black&white pics… and then when she got too much attention the copyright police came a-knockin, etc.  Whatever, she’s pretty great.  Check out her deviantArt page.  Samples below.  Let’s get murried, gurl.

Jen + Brett are pretty darn cute, and pretty darn fun to be with.  I was glad to help document the start of their new journey together-

heat wave

now that apparently two-thirds of the country is in heat-wave status, isn’t it hard to imagine late fall and/or winter?  anything that feels like the word “cozy”?  it’s so far away!  there is only melting and desperation and oven-feeling-ness!

these pictures remind me of camping in october.  fun, chilly, cozy… a world apart from today!

stay cool, kids-

Independence Day
