jeremy geddes

Well i suppose we should just talk about the cosmonauts already.

Jeremy Geddes is a painter from Melbourne, and he’s pretty fantastic, also in the literal sense of that word.  His paintings usually look like photos, which is itself a bit unsettling/transportive (transportative?  bahh..).  Add to that his subject matter, and i get that weird unbalanced feeling that probably indicates genius.  His ‘Cosmonaut” series is scenes from some parallel time where things look pretty bleak– abandoned buildings, no life save a few pigeons, etc.– and a lone cosmonaut floats in the middle of it all.  Sometimes even he looks dead (see: Heat Death).

These paintings make me feel crazy in the best possible way.  Check him out, buy his prints, elect him earth president.
