This is here as much to remind me as for anything else:  and thanks to BFerry for the re-reminder:

I spent time the past 2 summers in Bermuda and had great times– and brought home an affinity for the Dark n’ Stormy  (not that Rum Swizzles are bad, mind you, but you just can’t beat the aggression of ginger).  Finding the right GingerBeer has been a challenge though, as most places just seem to carry ginger ale, and these are just not the same.  So this summer I’m gonna try making my own ginger syrup to mix with Gosling’s and seltzer.

And then, AND THEN…  i’m also totally going the Michelada route.  I’m down with any drink that involves tobasco, pepper, and worchestire sauce, in beer.  come on!  They serve something like this at Watermark, so i know it’s not total hogwash.  HOGWASH!
